The Journey of Doberman Cedar Puppies
Our passion for Doberman Cedar Puppies stems from the profound love we discovered with our very first Doberman. In the early seventies, as a child, I welcomed a European Doberman into my life—a stray we affectionately named Moe. Moe quickly became an inseparable part of our family, bringing joy and loyalty that endeared him to everyone around us.
Moe was my steadfast companion, accompanying me on my daily paper route. His striking appearance and wonderful temperament drew compliments from all who met him. When he passed from old age, the impact he had on my life remained indelible. To this day, I cherish photos of Moe, a testament to the bond we shared.
Since Moe, I’ve embraced various dog breeds, from German Shepherds to American Staffordshires, each leaving a special mark on my heart. However, my love for Dobermans has always held a unique place in my life, inspiring us to create Doberman Cedar Puppies. Here, we aim to share that same joy and loyalty with future puppy parents.
Our Program
Puppy Culture
We raise our puppies on the Puppy Culture program. This is a socialization program which begins at birth and continues through 12 weeks of age. Our pups are introduced to Early Neurological Stimulation (starting at three days old), startle/recovery exercises, canine audio therapy, umbrellas, baby toys, crinkle toys, uneven surfaces, ramps, empty boxes, other dogs and children. They have their nails trimmed weekly, receive regular baths, get one-on-one work, have their ears played with, have their feet played with, are laid on their backs for tummy massage, spend individual time in the crate, are clicker trained, introduced to wearing a collar and will have learned to solve challenging situations. We are amazed at how well our puppies respond to the Puppy Culture program. Although it is an incredible amount of work, it is so rewarding to see our babies grow and progress with such confidence!
Our Family-Raised Kennel
At Doberman Cedar Puppies, we take immense pride in our intimate, home-based breeding program where each dog is cherished as a beloved family member. Our dedication to importing healthy, loving dogs with impressive pedigrees reflects our commitment to excellence. Every breeding dog undergoes thorough health checks, including patella evaluations, spinal X-rays for IVDD, and PRA testing. Though we may be small, our passion for raising exceptional Dobermans is anything but.
Breeding Philosophy and Process
Our mission at Doberman Cedar Puppies is to uphold the Doberman’s ideal temperament, conformation, and health. Actively participating in conformation and performance events—ranging from obedience to agility—we are proud members of the Doberman Pinscher Club of America.
Our home is not merely a kennel; it’s a sanctuary where our dogs live freely as part of the family. Our breeding program emphasizes health and longevity, with every puppy born here being a true labor of love. We carefully screen prospective homes to ensure each puppy finds a safe, loving, and responsible forever home.
A Nurturing Environment
Our puppies are whelped in a loving home environment, immersed in the everyday rhythms of family life. This close proximity fosters excellent socialization and exposure to new experiences. By the time they join their new families, our puppies are crate-trained, leash-trained, and have begun housebreaking. We believe in lifelong support, welcoming our puppies back at any time should circumstances change for their owners, with a contract in place to ensure their return.
Comprehensive Health Testing
All our dogs are rigorously health-tested for breed-specific genetic conditions, including cardiac, liver, kidney, thyroid issues, and more. We are committed to breeding healthy dogs with exceptional temperaments and longevity. Beyond genetics, we prioritize the role of environment, vaccination history, and nutrition in overall health. We encourage prospective owners to educate themselves about the breed’s unique temperament and personality traits.
Wholesome Nutrition for Healthy Growth
Our dogs thrive on a natural, species-appropriate raw diet complemented by high-quality holistic kibble. Puppies are weaned onto this nutritious diet, ensuring they are holistically and naturally raised, with minimal vaccinations, no chemicals, and no antibiotics.

Commitment to Responsible Ownership
To ensure a safe environment for our puppies, we require:
- A physically fenced yard or area at least 5 feet high (electronic/invisible fences are not acceptable).
- Reference checks for prospective owners.
- Possible home checks, conducted by us or a representative.
Our dogs enjoy a diet of Life’s Abundance kibble, enhanced with raw natural foods like meats, fruits, and veggies, along with supplements for optimal health. Life’s Abundance is a trusted brand with a stellar track record since 1999, boasting no recalls. We also include wellness supplements, fish oil, and joint support for a healthy, active life.
Our puppies are raised on the same diet.
This diet has proven to not only keep our dogs in top show condition, but also healthy and active well into their senior years.
